For the past nine years, India has ranked among Škoda Auto’s most important markets. The importance attached to this market is reflected in 2010 International Auto Expo in New Delhi.
Visitors can look forward not only to cars from the current portfolio available on the Indian market, but also to a newcomer offering extraordinary potential – the Yeti, the first Škoda SUV.
The Yeti is to take its Indian bow at the New Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The Škoda Auto stand will also feature examples of the Fabia and Octavia, known as the Laura in India.
The main draw will be India’s introduction to the Yeti, demonstrating the readiness of the first compact Škoda SUV to enter the Indian market. Professionals and the general public alike will be able to explore the advanced four-wheel drives fitted with 1.8 TSI/118 kW and 2.0 TDI CR/103 kW engines.
The Aurangabad plant operated by Škoda Auto India Private Limited (SAIPL) and VW India’s Pune plant will showcase, among other things, the locally produced Fabia Elegance, the Octavia/Laura in its top-of-the-range Laurin & Klement trim level, and a high-end Superb with a 3.6 FSI V6 engine and 4WD featuring the 4th-generation Haldex clutch system.
When it comes to Škoda’s European models, visitors to India’s biggest motor show will be treated to the dynamically tuned Fabia Sportline and the environmentally-friendly GreenLine. The Octavia RS with 2.0 TSI petrol engine, offering a generous output of 147 kW (200 bhp), is a reminder of the sports tradition in Škoda’s long history, which stretches back for more than a hundred years.
